What do you think about using
Snapchat as a way to sell and buy products with Snap Cash? Would that be
Snapchat’s next big move? – Parsa, I think it is
an interesting thought. Obviously a lot of people in
the US and Europe entrepreneurs scene are affected by WeChat’s
unbelievable success of not only being a content and a
communication but a retail platform in China. I think Snap Cash is something that Snapchat
is de-prioritizing. I think on the flip side,
I think we’re going to see a lot more commerce
coming from Facebook. I predict that a lot of you
will be selling a ton of stuff through Facebook 24
months from today. I think Parsa for
Snapchat I’m not sure. I think that they’re, internally
I’m sure they’re thinking about their roadmap. I’m curious to think about what
they’re thinking about Instagram Stories, do they feel like one
of the observations that I’m kind of leaning towards is
I don’t think Instagram Stories kills Snapchat but I definitely
think it may slow down the migration of 35 to 55-year-olds
over to the platform if they can use Instagram to feed
that kind of storytelling. So how are they
thinking about that? I was bullish and
excited about Snap Cash. I thought it was a good
move by them way back when. I think it’s
something you can consider. My intuition is what you’re
trying to accomplish ends up becoming a big business within
Facebook in the next 24 months. – Awesome.

with basically no
recurring dollars? – Meaning like he just
doesn’t have a lot of money? – [India] Yeah. Yeah, I guess. – He doesn’t have
business model that’s recurring. It’s I get a wedding,
I shoot it, I get money. So how would you scale? First and foremost, if I’m a
wedding photographer, one of the first moves I would do is
very similar to the advice that I gave to designers, immediately
I would layer a tier of Snapchat filter capabilities. I believe every modern wedding
35 and under in America in the next 18 months is
gonna have a Snapchat filter. It’s going to be a big
thing like Karen and Rick. That thing. I would do modern marketing. One, I would go triple in,
quadruple in, all-in uploading all your photos five, seven a
day get approval do your thing on Instagram and
learn all 15 hashtags that matter on Instagram. The five most popular ones,
the five medium ones and five long tail ones
like #HamptonsWedding. You know, #RockawayWeddings. Your area that you shoot in. There is always that hall, that place that everybody gets married at using
that name and weddings. 15 hashtags against 5 to 7
photos every single day on Instagram, I think will
lead to tremendous business. The other thing that I would do
is I would try to guest blog on wedding sites about Instagram
and Snapchat because again if you’re watching my show you’re kind of aware of
these things, right? Use modern social creative as your linchpin to your
actual business. If you think about being a
photographer for weddings as a secondary thing and you think
about being great in Snapchat and Instagram around the wedding
industry, using it and then commentating on it you will
create a much bigger awareness funnel and then people are like,
“Oh, I want to use that girl, “that guy. They’re good and
Snapchat and Instagram and “wedding photos.
It’s 2016, 2017.” I would hustle. I would work. What I just said took work. You like that one, Andy? It’s real. Work three more, four more hours
a day to do it I just told you and amazing things happened. You know how many people are
like “Oh miraculously, I made “$500 this week on eBay because
instead of drinking beers on my “porch and watching
Thunder-Warriors I went in my “garage or when garage
sale-ing and I sold stuff.” Staphon smiled because he
watched all of Thunder-Warriors. – [Staphon] I sure did.
(laughter) – That’s why has $500
less in his pocket. But he has the memories
and enjoyed himself. – [Staphon] It was a great game.
– Escapism. Great games.

“Gary, awesome segment with Seth Meyers.” Lisa asks, “With all this
talk about Snapcash, what is the one thing you’ll
teach your kids about money?” – Thanks for the love, Lisa. That’s an interesting question. You know, my parents taught, my mom, actually, really
taught me to respect money. You know, my dad, for an immigrant, was a big thinker with
money in the business. He really let me splurge and take chances. I give him a lot of credit for that. You know, it’s funny. I have a
weird relationship with money. I want it. I’m aware of its benefits. But I’m much more into the PR legacy. You know, where’s my place in history. Much more so about the dollars. I think if you try to
put yourself in history, the money finds you very quickly. You know, I don’t know. My biggest fear is my
kids are going to be rich versus what I grew up with and so I’m trying to figure out some level of creating respect around it. I guess the only thing that’s
defaulting into my mind is I’m going to make those two work. They’re going to work so they earn their own cash and then they can figure out
what their relationship is with their cash. – Hey GV, it’s TF.

– Alright, I get it. You want to know about SnapCash. I just watched the video. Nice job, nice production. Look, I think this continues. This is why I invested
in Venmo four years ago. The thought of payment
transfers amongst people in a paperless, cashless
world is very important. And to layer it into a social
network, what I like about it for SnapChat is they’re
getting in very early. What I mean by very early
is not into the game, very early in one’s age
to create the behavior. Because SnapChat has a heavy
13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19 year old demo, they can
capture a lot of that behavior. I always thought that Facebook,
I remember thinking that the social network I wanted
to build when Facebook was blowing it up was one that
was around your license. Because I wanted to get the people before they went to college. And I thought like, if we
start a social network where your license was your
gateway in, that there was something there and that’s
what SnapChat has done. It’s gone earlier. It creates behavior. Look, cryptocurrency, Apple
Pay, this kind of stuff with Square and SnapChat, if I’m a
traditional financial service, I’m very concerned about
the enormous innovation over the last 24 months invading on my turf. And if I’m a consumer, I’m extremely happy because competition breeds
enormous innovation. And the number one thing we love is time. And I see a lot of things
in the financial world saving us time now. Saving us time to go into
our wallet and take this out, and take out cash. Ooh, I actually have to
give a receipts to Matt. You know, so that’s good. And you know, or this,
taking out a credit card and swiping it takes time. All these things are much
quicker in this world. Speed, my friends. In sports and in business
really matters cause we value time the most. Might be time to get a watch. Question of the day. What is your number one
most recent app download.
